The Megatone Sessions launch episode 3 of their audio-visual journey with the third instalment of their visual project showcasing indie legends JAWS on December 8th. The small team garnered from the audio-visual and artistic industries have combined their innovative talents to create a series of performances from Birmingham’s underground scene and beyond. After the success of episode 2, which saw Brighton band The Wytches combining their grunge sound with an unsettling blend of menacing cinematics, the third episode promises to put a dreamier edge on the project. With Birmingham based band JAWS set to perform, this instalment plays off the ideas of perspective and space with the Megatone Sessions inventive camera work taking us through a smoky dreamscape of architecture patterns and dazzling lights backed by the band’s dreamy atmospheric sounds.
Teaming up with Founder Mark Gittins to bring the sessions to life are videographer/artist Dave Stanley, and lightning designer Robb Cartin. Commenting on the future of the project, Mark said: “Each episode will be different, tailored to the act, their image, sound, and message, as well as being a visual dialogue between ourselves, the performer, and the audience. Episode one is the spark to start the fire. We’re all very excited to be doing this.”
This will be a treat for not only JAWS legion of devoted fans but the multi-sensory experience will provide a unique experience for any gig goer challenging the preconceptions of what a live performance is.
